This Community History Archive is made possible by the generous bequest of the late Richard "Dick" Poppe.
A native of New Breman, Ohio, Dick served in the U.S. Navy during the Second World War, earned a degree in mechanical engineering at Trine University, and worked thirty-six (36) years for Marathon Pipe Line.
An active supporter of the community throughout his life, Dick also loved the study of history. The Lawrence Public Library gratefully dedicates this digital archive – now available to all students of history – in his memory.
